A Great Year Ahead for Family Cruisers

As a travel agent who specializes in family travel, I follow the news and trends in the family cruise niche closely.   Predictions are that 2011 will be a great year for the cruise industry with an estimated 6.6 % growth over 2010, adding up to one million more passengers sailing, according to CLIA.  This year travelers will have more cruises and itineraries available to them as 11 more ships enter the market, each with its own innovative features and services.

One of the most exciting new ships in 2011 is no doubt the Disney Dream, which celebrated is christening just yesterday.   The ship features the first watercoaster, the AquaDuck, as well as technology enhancements such as art that interacts with guests.  Kids clubs have been revamped and improved and adults will have a new fine dining option, Remy, to enjoy.  This 2,500 passenger ship promises to make dreams come true for those lucky enough to sail.

It’s an exciting year for family cruisers who will have more destinations, better excursions and more dining and entertainment options onboard.  Time to start planning to take advantage of all the great cruises out there!

Now is the time to book for 2011!  Grin Travel is here to help you plan this year’s family or group cruise.
